October 2009. I went home for a one month vacation in Manila. I made sure that my schedule will be filled with meeting with friends, beauty treatments, shopping and food trips. One of those is my desire to introduce my family to another cuisine aside from Filipino food. My parents were simple eaters so they don't really like dining out too much. But because of my influence they also started the habit. That time I brought them to Thai at Silk at Serendra to sample the Thai cuisine. It was a sure hit.
I love the place. The interiors were obviously carefully planned to fit the concept. It looks cozy yet there is a feeling of liveliness with the white and green theme. The food is great but it is somehow a bit modified to suit the Filipino taste buds like the Phad Thai which is actually sweeter than expected. For me, this is the perfect Thai resto for balikbayan and foreigner friends.
