I've been missing Teh Tahrik or milk tea from Ya Kun Kaya Singapore since I went back to Manila. The last time I checked, the only branch they have is in NAIA. I tried looking for alternatives like Toast Box or any local cafes which serves the same tea but I still want the blend from Ya Kun.
I was delighted to know that there is one Ya Kun Kaya branch in Ortigas. I can't wait to go there and savour the rich blend of pulled tea & milk and the kaya toast.
After jogging in Ultra at 7am, me and my jogging mates decided to have breakfast at Ya Kun. It was hard to find at first but finally we were able to locate the cafe.
After much excitement, I was then disappointed on the first sip of the tea. The tea flavor was too strong and the kaya toast has more butter than kaya.
Kaya - is a coconut egg jam which originated or popular from Malaysia or Singapore.
As I always do, I give feedback to restaurants not to criticize them but to help them improve their products and services. I am glad that the manager/owner replied to me immediately.
By the way, Ya Kun Kaya is available for delivery thru CityDelivery.
