Weekend High Tea Buffet at The Regent Hotel

Here comes Valentine's day. Me and hubby agreed that we will go on a "date" the coming weekend. We really don't need to celebrate it because every day for us is Heart's day... lol!  I guess we are just finding a reason to eat out and dine in a fancy restaurant.

I wanted to try eating in a high tea buffet so we decided to give it a go. I searched on Google for the best hotels/cafes offering high tea and we came up with a few nice ones. There are hotels/cafes offering buffets and sets.  On the set menu, the pastry and cakes are refillable but limited to a few variety. Since it is our first time, we might as well splurged and indulged. We opt for the buffet and we chose to dine at The Regent Hotel.

We called for reservation to make sure that we don't need to wait in case many people showed up that day. The high tea is only on Saturday and Sunday. They have two sittings, 12noon-2.30PM (First seating) and 3PM-5.30PM (Second seating).

We came early for the second seating so we just roam around the hotel and let baby Ish play around. Then it's time to eat! Yey! We were not disappointed. Wow! It's as good as eating lunch or dinner already with the big spread in the buffet. From savoury snacks to cheeses, from different cakes to local food like satay and so much more. We enjoyed every bit of it. Click here for the complete menu.

And of course with the wide selection of snacks comes the free flow of coffee or fine tea or hot choco. The tea that I chose was French Panettone. I am not a tea drinker except from Tea-C which I really love.. harharhar! The French Panettone tasted heavenly sweet and refreshing. It has a hint of vanilla flavor. Wow now I appreciate tea, or maybe because it is a "fine tea" and not just the ordinary one that you can buy at the grocery store.

Look at those French Macarons above... love love...

I asked for coffee for my second round of drinks.

Overall, we were more than satisfied. It's a bit pricey but it is all worth it. Next on the list to try is the high tea in Fullerton Hotel and TWG.
