Korean Food is love love... Aside from sight seeing, I wanted to eat the "must-try" Korean food. Although this cuisine is all over Singapore I wanted to eat the authentic ones thus we ate mostly Korean food for the whole 7 days of our stay. Before this trip I already researched on the recommended food from reviews and forums. Mostly are street food.
On Day1 in Seoul we went to Lotte World, we were suppose to visit three spots as planned but we were so tired from the early morning flight from Singapore thus we devoted the half day to Lotte world. We arrived there at around 4PM, very hungry , so we decided to eat in the first food outlet that we can find. We saw this Food Capital which is a food court. Daddy K ordered this spicy noodles (sorry, i can't remember the name) and I ordered the pork cutlet with cheese. Pretty simple food. It's the first day and for a hungry tummy we have to choose the safest and easiest food we can find. Good thing that the menu has an English translation. hehehe..

Hotteok or Korean pancake. It is the circle one in the pic below. It taste yummy while hot and I like it with coffee. I tried this in Myeongdong area. I wanted to sample all those you see in the pic below but I am reserving some space in my tummy for Yoogane.
Yoogane. This food chain can be found almost anywhere in Seoul. The dishes in the menu are mostly the fried rice which is cooked at your table.
Marinated chicken galbi with bean sprouts fried rice.
Chicken wrap. This isn't a Korean food. I know.. hehehe but hubby ate one while we are shopping at Myeongdong.
Jajangmyeon. Noodle with black bean sauce. It's worth a try. We ate this in N Seoul tower and also found it in Myeongdong from the street food seller. The one from N Seoul tower is tastier.
Sausage on stick wrapped in potato fries.. yes potato fries. Nothing special.
Tteokbokki. The penne(pasta) looking thingy that you see in the pic is actually a rice cake and is the main ingredient of this dish. Very spicy... I wasn't able to finish 1 serving of it.
Bibimbap. Mixed vegetables and egg on top of rice with a spicy Korean pepper paste. Although I've tried it before, the taste in Korea is somewhat different for me. It's more yummy.. hahaha.. I don't know maybe it's just all in my mind eating bibimbap in Korea.

Caramel Honey Toast from Caffe Bene. That huge toast... It is likely a dessert than a breakfast bread. I've tried it in Jeju Airport.. finally after becoming so frustrated of having no time to try it in Seoul.

Lemonade. Lemon + Sprite/7Up = Sour bubbly drink.
I'm not a fan of this.

Fish cake and sausages from the street food seller.
This one is very interesting. The shop doesn't look like it is selling ice cream. At first look I thought it was selling tassels and fabric. Even the interior of the store displays a collection of cartoon figurines and posters. What attracts buyers is the J shape of the ice cream cone wherein you can choose two different flavors injected in each end of the cone. We've tried vanilla and choco. It tasted ordinary. Even the cone taste nothing special.
Samgyeopsal or Korean BBQ Pork Belly. I don't need to elaborate on this one because this kind of Korean BBQ experience is famous and widely known to many.

Korean style chicken. I was looking for the soy garlic chicken but ended up with this restaurant ChirChir. They serve a huge plate of Korean style chicken. It is good but it wasn't the flavor I was hoping for. It is the normal fried chicken taste but extra crispy. I could have tried Kyo Chon resto which we passed by many times. It could have been like Bonchon.
There were two dishes which I haven't tried. The Gimbap (sticky rice rolled in seaweed sheet ) and the Sundae (pork intestine with glass noodles and pork blood). I don't know, maybe I don't have the courage to try Sundae. Although I eat pork intestine and blood from my hometown, I don't feel like eating it from the streets of Korea.
