Lunch Buffet at Window on the Park, Holiday Inn Orchard

We just came back from Manila for Christmas celebration with my family.

Today we are celebrating the 2nd year anniversary of our wedding in Mumbai (Registration of Marriage). I booked a table at Window on the Park in advance and I thought that it is the perfect occasion to try their buffet. The holiday feast doesn't end yet for us...hehehe.

I love the wintery feel of their decor. The blue and white colour pops in every table landscape.

Traditional English Afternoon Tea at The Fullerton Hotel

I met an old friend today. Never seen her for about 2 years now and I'm glad that she came to Singapore. I don't know where to take her because she's been to most of the tourist spots already. I thought to myself this is the prefect time for a "Mommy's Day Off" and another high tea. This time I wanted to try it in Fullerton Hotel.

We got there around 5:30PM and the high tea service was about to end at 6PM. Why did I forgot that "Afternoon Tea" is until 6PM only. I am not really sure if we can max out and utilize the remaining time but I guess we got too excited and still went for it.

We don't want to waste any minute so we ordered our selection of teas. I just noticed that their selection of teas in the menu was fewer compared to other hotels. But because it's quite few, it is easier to choose. They serve TWG teas. We both chose Red Tea. I chose the flavour with again… a hint of vanilla, Vanilla Bourbon. For my friend R, she chose Choco Mint Truffle tea.

Weekend High Tea Buffet at The Regent Hotel

Here comes Valentine's day. Me and hubby agreed that we will go on a "date" the coming weekend. We really don't need to celebrate it because every day for us is Heart's day... lol!  I guess we are just finding a reason to eat out and dine in a fancy restaurant.

I wanted to try eating in a high tea buffet so we decided to give it a go. I searched on Google for the best hotels/cafes offering high tea and we came up with a few nice ones. There are hotels/cafes offering buffets and sets.  On the set menu, the pastry and cakes are refillable but limited to a few variety. Since it is our first time, we might as well splurged and indulged. We opt for the buffet and we chose to dine at The Regent Hotel.

We called for reservation to make sure that we don't need to wait in case many people showed up that day. The high tea is only on Saturday and Sunday. They have two sittings, 12noon-2.30PM (First seating) and 3PM-5.30PM (Second seating).

We came early for the second seating so we just roam around the hotel and let baby Ish play around. Then it's time to eat! Yey! We were not disappointed. Wow! It's as good as eating lunch or dinner already with the big spread in the buffet. From savoury snacks to cheeses, from different cakes to local food like satay and so much more. We enjoyed every bit of it. Click here for the complete menu.

Staying overnight at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Singapore

We had our ROM at Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The venue of our ROM rites was at Dolce Vita, an Italian Restaurant at the hotel near the pool. I booked 2D/1N Deluxe room with King size bed and I thought that it is the perfect place to prep, do the makeup and dress up so that we don't need to travel far to go to the venue.

I posted this so that my readers can have a look of what's inside the room and to help you guys decide if you also want to book in this hotel.  Sometimes, we don't want to rely on professional photos from the hotel's website as it may not look the same as in pictures. It is better to see it from the guest's perspective.

We checked-in at around 2PM but to our disappointment, we were given a room with a twin bed. Errrr.. how am  I suppose to sleep in a separate bed from my hubby after the ROM. We asked the front desk to give us a room with a King bed which what we initially booked and they gladly obliged. To our delight we were upgraded to a Club Harbour Room with a magnificent view of the bay. Wow that was $200 more than what we paid for.

I love everything in the room, modern and posh and clean. All the amenities are up to date. What interest me the most is the see through bathroom where one side is a glass wall. I didn't dare use it without closing the blinds though.. hehehe..
