7 Things We Love In the NEWLY EXPANDED Wild Wild Wet - Bigger and Better with a New Attraction The Woosh

Just a year ago we were celebrating Daddy K's birthday on the same place. We have booked 3D/2N at D'Resort and spent almost the whole day in Wild Wild Wet. My kids had a lot of fun and keeps on bugging me to come back again this year.

Check my daughter's 2016 photo below. She never wanted to leave, hugged the pillar and whispered  "I will miss you".. hahahaha. She cried hard before checking out and asked me to buy the hotel. Kids these days. =) I cannot blame her, she had a wonderful staycation.

She even wrote on her school dream board that she wishes it was always her daddy's birthday so that she can come back again and again to Wild Wild Wet and D'Resort.

**Want to win a 2D1N staycation package at D’Resort? Read on to find out.

How lucky we were and very timely that I  have received an invite from Wild Wild Wet X SampleStore at the launch of their new attraction The Woosh. Yiipeee!!!

And so we're back to this fun loaded water theme park.

 Downtown East’s Seeing Double Campaign

To celebrate the completion of the expansion of Wild Wild Wet to double its original size, Downtown East is bringing an overload of fun to the public with a Seeing Double promotion.

Members of the public just need to come dressed identically with a friend to enjoy double the fun for half the price at four key offerings at Downtown East – Wild Wild Wet, D’Resort, Orchid Bowl and eXplorerkid.

The campaign runs from 4 June to 31 July 2017. To encourage the public to take part, there is also an Instagram competition (TWIN & WIN) that will run throughout the campaign period.

So here's the mechanics on how to win a 2D1N staycation package at D’Resort.

1. Simply snap a wefie anywhere with your twinning buddy or family in identical outfits

2. Upload it onto Instagram and hashtag #SeeingDoubleSG

Just take a look at the prizes: WOW!

We also came in twinning... yeah!

Singapore  Book of Records Attempt

To kick start the Seeing Double campaign, Downtown East invited the public to join in an attempt to set the Singapore Book of Records for the ‘Largest Gathering of Dress Alike Duos’.

To encourage members of the public to join in the record-setting attempt, the first 200 pairs of participants who come dressed identically gained complimentary access to Wild Wild Wet on 4 June.

Yes we did it! With a total of 111 pairs dressed alike, we were able to bag the Singapore Record. Cool..

I'm sorry but I cannot skip... (never!)... to mention how I love love the setup of the buffet spread. We were served light refreshments and knowing that I adore vintage/victorian style, I was in awe and excited to Instagram it.

Ok now here's the...

7 Things we LOVE in the newly expanded Wild Wild Wet

1. The Woosh, Singapore’s Longest Inflatable Freestyle Water Slide at Downtown East - 50m of Pure Fun

In the month of June and July, members of the public will have an exciting attraction to check out in Wild Wild Wet.

The Woosh is Singapore’s longest inflatable freestyle water slide, where guests can slide down the entire length of 50m from a height of 4.5m in almost any way possible. The dual lanes also mean that guests can challenge each other and compete to see who can slide further along the slide.

The Woosh is available from  4 June to 30 July 2017. So hurry now and try out wooshing down the longest water slide before it ends.

My daughter yelled " Bouncy castle!!!" upon seeing it.

Safety first.

My family had fun trying it out and even the sun is so HOT, the water from the slide and sprinkles will cool you down.  Do not forget to try out the different styles in sliding (shown above).

2. The Slides

Wild Wild Wet @ Downtown East recently completed its expansion to double its original size. Now spanning 4 hectares, it is also home to two newest attractions, Royal Flush and Free Fall.

Royal Flush is Asia’s first hybrid ride combining the Behemoth BOWL40 and TornadoWAVE – effectively combining two rides into one unique experience. Free Fall is Singapore’s first near-vertical full-body drop at up to 55km/hour stands at a whopping six storeys high.

Royal Flush

The rest of the slides looks very scary for me but I am just happy to watch the other guests screaming to the top of their lungs. I am not brave enough like them but I am sure it is thrilling and a whole lot of fun.

Torpedo

For younger kids, they also have the Kidz Zone, a set of miniature rides and slides that are suitable for kids.

Kidz Zone
Obviously, we spent most of our time in Kidz Zone where my kids tried all the slides. Who wouldn't love it, I even tried it a couple of times.

Professor's Playground

3. The Wave Pool / Tsunami  and Shiok River

These two are my personal favorite. Going easy on the adventure. Just pure relaxation while floating in the water or feeling the wave amidst your body. I can stay here for hours.

4. The Fancy Float Rental

You wouldn't believe it but I was ecstatic to see these fancy floats. They are adorable and perfect for your Instagram photo of the day. Grab any of the floats (flamingos, unicorns, donuts) and strike that pose. Do I need to say more? Keeping it up with the trend. Another plus points for WWW for this detail.

5. The Cabanas

Although the park has an ample space for resting and taking breaks like the beach chairs and picnic tables, the cabanas stood out.  It is your little private space amidst the crowd. It includes a locker, free wi-fi, towel, fancy float, snack platter and chilled drinks. It also has a fan.

I recommend it for families with babies and small kids. They can take a nap inside and protect them from the scorching heat of the sun. I think you can pull down the covers if you need a quick change or if you need to maybe breastfeed. Hey, no kidding, I've seen a 3-month old baby being carried around the park. Seriously? yes really. That reminds me, next time I'm gonna check if they have a baby room facility.

It is also useful for couples or small group of friends celebrating an occasion.

6. The Amenities

Convenience, convenience and convenience is all there is... From ample locker rooms to numerous beach chairs and picnic tables, vendo machines, clean showers and toilet, children's shower room,  a small cafe with ice cream for a quick bite and other variety of stores just outside the vicinity. If you happen to have a bikini malfunction, fret not, Sun Paradise is just outside (E-Hub) to grab your new swimming gear and apparels.

7. The Selection of F&B Outlets

After all the fun, it's time for makan. The last time we were looking for a place to have dinner here, I remember that we cannot find a restaurant to our liking. The area was somewhat looking gloomy, crowded and old. Now it's totally different. With high ceilings and modern interior, it feels brighter and airy. Not to mention a good variety of cafes (Starbucks! yey), fast foods, hawkers and restaurants. Dining now really feels like a holiday even if we just had a quick bite from a fast food. =)

And as for my daughter, I asked her what is her favorite part in our family fun date. Her answer was  "meeting new friends and having fun with them" . Awwwww, I didn't see that coming.
